Had zander fillet with potatoes and vegetables. It was super tasty, large portion and at very reasonable prices. The service was very attentive and quick, just perfect.
5 stars for this delicious meal! You come back here regularly with the certainty that you won't be disappointed. The employees are also quick and friendly. On hot summer evenings, the terrace at the edge of the forest is ideal. Very pleasant!
We've been going to the forester's house every now and then for years. However, in recent years the restaurant has, in our opinion, declined significantly. The menu has been the same for over 10 years, which doesn't live up to the creativity standards of similar restaurants. Recently there were five of us there. I ordered the vegetarian savoy cabbage roll and was more than disappointed. What was found on the plate were 2 wilted and tough savoy cabbage leaves, with soft liquid mashed potatoes as a filling! An attempt was made to somehow wrap this viscous mass in the leaves, but that didn't work. Not only did it look unappetizing, it also tasted like nothing. For me it was just an attempt to sell a meal worth 1.50 for 16 euros. It's a shame to even offer something like that! Roast venison was also ordered, which was a bit dry. The rest was OK, but far from a delicious meal. What doesn't work anymore, however, is the service, which is not only unfriendly, but simply has no manners. No greeting, instead of “excuse me” there is a “huh?” We ordered waffles and they were burnt. When we complained about them, the waiter said that waffles are always hard and dark and they were fine. There was a long discussion, after which he agreed to offer new ones. When he got to the door, he turned back and said loudly "I tried them, they were fine". Interesting information for all guests that the waiter tries the ordered food beforehand! When we were there in the summer we also found the same waiter to be very unfriendly and thought he was having a bad day. Unfortunately it wasn't a single slip-up. It's a shame, actually, we always enjoyed going there.
